Wireless surveillance camera models

Wireless camera systems have become increasingly popular in recent years, mainly because of the relatively simple installation. The 2.4 Ghz digital wireless cameras are now completely free of deposits up to a distance of about 30 meters with walls in between. A new type of wireless technology has also recently appeared on the market in which Powerline Adapters are used with Power over Ethernet (POE), which makes it possible to make UTP camera systems wireless. With this technique, the camera images are sent via the power network, which works very stably wirelessly and can be used with dome, bullet and PTZ cameras.

Wired surveillance camera models

There is a suitable solution for every wired security system. When compiling the right camera surveillance set, you can choose from analogue (Coax) and digital (UTP) surveillance cameras, among other things. The Coax surveillance cameras are cheaper on average than UTP IP camera systems, but these are excellent cameras for short distances. The analog surveillance cameras that we offer for sale use AHD video compression. The images and power run via a BNC Coax cable to an SD card or hard disk recorder, also called DVR.

With the addition of the AJAX alarm systems to our range, it is now possible to view the images from the security camera and operate the alarm system via one smartphone APP. The advantage of this combination is that in the event of an alarm, it is possible to quickly determine what is going on via the images from the security camera.

AJAX alarm systems with IP security camera integration

With the addition of the AJAX alarm systems to our range, it is now easy to make a combination between a security camera system and a wireless alarm system. The AJAX alarm systems have the option of adding an IP camera via the same App. So when there is an alarm, you can verify the alarm message directly in the same App via the images from the security camera.

Just placing surveillance cameras somewhere, is that allowed? In principle, this is not prohibited. However, the person who manages the cameras must comply with certain rules and laws. This applies not only to companies but also to private individuals: everyone must comply with these rules. In addition, separate rules apply to the storage and distribution of surveillance images.

Installing a security camera

Surveillance cameras allow you to monitor the grounds, the building, the home or what is happening on the street. It is not forbidden to hang cameras. It must be clear, however, that you are monitoring by means of surveillance cameras. That is precisely the reason why municipalities place signs in the city center stating that camera surveillance applies. Or the shopkeeper who has a sign with 'camera surveillance' at the entrance. You may also hang a monitor at the entrance of the building, so that visitors can see for themselves that they are being filmed.

• In a store
  Shopkeepers are allowed to install a security camera at the entrance door, cash register or shelf. No camera surveillance is allowed in fitting rooms or toilets. This also applies to other companies and the hospitality industry. Watch out for gyms. A camera in the sports hall is allowed, but no camera is allowed in the changing rooms.
• Camera surveillance in the workplace
  Placing surveillance cameras on the work floor is only permitted when this is really necessary. For example, to protect your property or that of the staff. But also for the safety of the personnel. Staff must be aware of the presence of security cameras. You can do this simply by placing a sign or sticker at each entrance door that leads to the room where filming takes place.
• As a private individual
  You may also install surveillance cameras as a private individual. If the cameras are aimed at your own property, you do not need to warn about this. But if you also film the public road, you must place a sign or sticker.
• Keeping it
  An entrepreneur or the municipality may store camera images for a maximum of four weeks. When an incident has occurred, the entrepreneur may keep the images until the incident has been dealt with. The same rules also apply to private individuals. If you film from the home or have a video doorbell, you may not store the images for longer than 28 days.
• Request camera images
  You have been filmed somewhere by a surveillance camera. Can you request the camera images? Citizens have the right to view or delete their personal data. This means that they can also request camera images.
• Distribute the CCTV footage
  It is not allowed to distribute camera images just like that, whether it concerns hidden cameras or normal surveillance cameras. You always need permission from the filmed person for distribution. You may, however, hand over images to the police if this serves as evidence in the event of an incident.

You have the right to guard your property. This is allowed through surveillance cameras, as long as it is on private property. It must be clear to employees or visitors (customers) that cameras are present. This is made clear to you by means of a warning or warning sign. Do you film (a part of) the public road? Even then this should be clear. Moreover, you are not allowed to film the public road just like that. The police can tell you more about this. Never store recordings longer than necessary, with a maximum of four weeks. Companies must comply with the privacy law.

• The number of cameras required
  One of the most important tips is the number of cameras required. It would be a shame if you buy too many cameras, but too few is not good either. First, map out what you want to monitor, which access roads and how large the area is. The best situation is that the cameras are aimed at each other, filming not only the environment but also each other.
• Vandalism proof
  Surveillance cameras are regularly disabled. That is why it is important to hang it at a good height so that people cannot reach it without a stool or ladder. However, the cameras must not hang too high either: they must be able to capture faces.
• No cameras above windows and doors
  Do not hang surveillance cameras above windows and doors. This doesn't make much sense because then they're only filming from above. Any perpetrators are barely visible. It is better to aim cameras at windows and doors, so opposite to this. Do place a camera at every entrance door, otherwise criminals will simply take another entrance.
• In a corner of the room
  For a good overview of the room, it is more indispensable to hang a camera in a corner of the room. A security camera always has a blind spot. By hanging the camera in a corner you avoid this blind spot. This provides a good view of the room, taking into account the viewing angle. If the viewing angle is not sufficient, you will sometimes have to hang several cameras in the same room.
