Indoor cameras

An indoor security camera system means that the product is composed of several parts. For example, there is a recorder that forms the basis of the camera system, to which one or more indoor security cameras can be connected wirelessly or wired. The advantages of a complete camera system are that it works very stable and you have full control over the way you set up the system. For example, you can decide for yourself whether you connect the system to the internet and whether and how the storage takes place. As the name suggests, a stand-alone indoor camera has everything in the camera itself and often works with Wi-Fi or a SIM card and stores the images in the (SD card) memory or in the Cloud. A stand-alone indoor camera has the advantage that it is often cheaper to purchase than a camera system and can be installed quickly.

Choose a wireless or wired indoor camera model?

The wireless indoor camera systems have been gaining popularity in recent years due to the relatively simple installation. Previous generations of wireless indoor cameras still had the disadvantage that there was a lot of interference in the images when there was a wall or window between the receiver, but with the arrival of the digital wireless indoor cameras and the powerline adapter technology, this is no longer applicable. Although the digital wireless cameras can have a wall or window between the receiver, the maximum distance is still limited to about 30 meters. Although the advent of improved wireless technology has removed many of the disadvantages of a wireless camera system, a wired camera system remains the safest choice. There is a cable between the recorder and the indoor security cameras that transmits power to both the image and the camera, eliminating the need for one cable.

View at night

It is a myth that burglars are mainly active at night. In fact, most burglaries take place in daylight. Nevertheless, it is nice if there is sufficient visibility at night or in areas where there is no lighting or daylight. Like a basement or garage.

Here you make recordings by using night vision. This is called infrared, a technique that allows you to capture images at night. Infrared lighting is visible with an infrared camera and invisible to the human naked eye. Infrared is often abbreviated as IR. Pay attention to how many meters the night vision extends and measure how much you need. This differs per indoor camera.

The following is important when installing an indoor security camera:

• The location: Place a wireless indoor camera where the connection is strong enough or where there is a physical internet cable to connect the system to. Is there a power cable or do you have a camera with a battery? You also think about this in advance. If necessary, call in an installer to professionally conceal the cabling.
• Correctly set the motion detection of indoor surveillance cameras. Test what works best for you. In fact, you only want to record images when a person or animal is active. Sometimes the system is set too loosely and the system already saves images when a tree or bush moves. Do you have indoor security cameras? Then you usually don't have to adjust anything. Is there sufficient visibility at night? Test this out when recording at night.
• Do you have enough security cameras or is expansion necessary? Think carefully about what is in the picture. It would be a shame if you miss a burglary or other criminal activity.
