The advantages of the watch cameras are that these models film in reasonably high quality, have no extra cables and the images can be read directly on the computer. There are different types for sale, but there is more difference between the different camera models than it seems at first sight.
When to choose a watch with a camera?
When customers call us or visit our store and ask for advice on which spycam to use, we rarely recommend a security camera watch. This is because many people want to use the spy watch to film a 1 on 1 conversation and this means that your wrist must be constantly turned during this conversation. In these cases it is better to go for a pen camera or button camera. However, camera watches are very suitable for unobtrusively filming in a room where it is different when you are carrying another item.
What models of watch spycams are there?
Although most watches with a security camera look like traditional watches, watches with a camera in the form of a smart band are also becoming increasingly popular.
Smartband watch camera
Because more and more people wear a smartband or a certain variant such as a pedometer, this form is also very inconspicuous. Depending on the smartband with camera model, the camera is on the top or on the front. This is important to note, because when you film with the watch camera you have to keep your wrist in that position to make the correct shots with the watch camera.
Classic model
With these models of watches, the mini camera is incorporated in the dial. Usually around 12 noon. When making the video with these watches with a camera, you must therefore turn your wrist a quarter of a turn to film the correct angle.
Night vision
The latest models of watches with a camera have a night vision function through those small IR lights. Because the IR lights are invisible, it is possible to film in the dark with these watches with a camera. However, due to the limited IR support, only night vision up to about 3 meters is possible.
Resolution
The resolution with which a watch camera can film is usually Full HD or higher. The time of grainy images and bad videos is no longer applicable in the field of hidden video recording.
Battery life
Most watch cameras have an internal battery that can film for about 60 to 90 minutes. This rechargeable battery is therefore separate from the battery of the timepiece.
Buy a watch spy camera in the store or order it online?
Before you buy a spy watch, it is advisable to think about the desired use. If you want to give a special gift for the holidays or on any other occasion, the gadget spy watches will certainly suffice. However, if you want to make unobtrusive recordings of a conversation or a building, it is better to go for a professional model with an HD lens or another portable hidden camera.
