Wireless cameras

Are you looking for a wireless camera or do you opt for a completely wireless camera system? At Sitcon you will find different types of security cameras that work wirelessly. We have stand-alone wireless surveillance cameras, but also wireless camera sets with a recorder where the signal is sent wirelessly. With Sitcon's wireless cameras you can secure your home or business without the hassle of installation. Wireless cameras or a complete set are usually supplied in combination with a recorder.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of wireless cameras?

The big advantage of wireless cameras is that you don't have to use cables. Wireless security cameras only need to be supplied with power and can then be used immediately. This has to do with the wireless network that these cameras use.

Disadvantages of wireless camera systems

A major disadvantage of wireless security camera systems is that the distance between the receiver and camera can be limited by the range of the wireless signal. In many cases, the signal does not reach further than about 15 meters. A Wi-Fi security camera can therefore interfere with the system or the signal and the network can be disrupted by the walls.

Benefits of wireless camera systems

However, these disadvantages often do not outweigh the advantages of wireless surveillance cameras. Installing wired cameras is quite a job and often entails high costs. Cameras with a wireless signal can actually be installed by anyone.

What types of wireless security cameras are there?

At Sitcon we have a wide range of different types of wireless security cameras. We have listed a few for you.

2.4 Ghz wireless RF signal

A wireless camera with a receiver often works on an RF signal. The wireless camera and receiver must be paired and then have a secure wireless digital connection that does not interfere with the Wi-fi and other devices that work wirelessly. A wireless camera set with RF technology is also available in a variant where the receiver has a built-in screen. Many customers choose this option because the images can be viewed directly on the screen, without having to open the App on the smartphone or tablet.

Use of Wi-Fi network

A wireless IP security camera usually uses the available Wi-Fi connection. You set up the Wi-Fi wireless camera directly via the App on your smartphone and let it connect to the Wi-Fi network. From here you can operate the camera with your smartphone and access the images on a possibly inserted SD card.

Battery operation

This WiFi outdoor camera works up to 90 days on just one battery. The wireless camera is therefore extremely suitable for use in a home or business if there is no WiFi signal. You can use this wireless camera for different purposes. Think of proving vandalism when your car is damaged or to see who is at the door. The wireless camera only becomes active when there is movement and can be on standby for a long time. You do not need to install any cables for this outdoor camera, both for the signal and for the electricity. You can operate and set this outdoor camera via your smartphone. The Android and iOS application are extremely user-friendly and, in addition to the live material, you can call up images from an SD card.

Via the power network with Powerline adapters

With the Sitcon powerline adapters it is now possible to turn all our security camera sets into a wireless system. At the recorder you place a powerline adapter in the socket and also one at the camera. The camera then receives power via the power network and sends the images to the recorder. Because the Sitcon Powerline adapters do not use Wi-Fi or any other signal, they work without interference and wirelessly over a long distance.

The different models of wireless surveillance cameras

In addition to the different working methods between wireless cameras, there is also a difference in the model in which these wireless security cameras are offered. For example, there are dome, bullet and ptz wireless cameras for sale. There are also wireless indoor and outdoor cameras for sale. Depending on the situation and use, the best model can be recommended.

Wireless dome camera

A wireless dome camera is a common security camera model that works wirelessly. The convex shape of the camera makes it reasonably compact compared to other wireless cameras and can therefore be placed in most places. However, dome cameras that work wirelessly are less common outdoors, because they are usually not waterproof.

Wireless bullet camera

A bullet model wireless security camera has a rectangular shape and is often used when the security camera needs to be placed outside wirelessly. In the bullet camera there is often enough space for the wireless module without this being at the expense of the waterproof rating.

Pan Tilt Zoom wireless camera

A PTZ wireless camera can pan, tilt and zoom, making it possible to monitor a larger area with one camera. A PTZ camera that works wirelessly can be operated via an App, but can often also follow a certain course as standard.

Which brands of cameras are there that work wirelessly?

We are an authorized sales channel of well-known wireless camera brands such as HikVision, Dahua and Esviz. Of course we also sell our own brand of SitconSecurity wireless cameras, which are usually not inferior to or better than wireless cameras from renowned brands.
