Camera recorders are specially designed for recording camera images. The different recorders can be roughly divided into 2 groups. The first is the DVR which stands for Digital Video Recorder and is used for cameras that have a BNC or Tulip video connection. In addition, there is the NVR, which stands for Network Video Recorder and is used for cameras with a UTP cable video connection. Both systems are now able to run both the video and the power via the same cable, so that it is no longer necessary to have a power connection at the location of the camera.
