Which monitor best suits my cameras
Do you use multiple cameras? Then it is nice if you can keep an eye on it via one screen. Even if you have four, six or eight cameras, the size of the screen is not important and even on a smartphone you can monitor several surveillance cameras at the same time. Do you want to zoom in on one surveillance camera? Then you can fully visualize this security camera. In addition, with certain cameras it is possible to zoom in or you can move the lens. Usually an LCD screen is chosen, but you can also go for TFT or LED. As long as your screen has sufficient sharpness, it is possible to see the smallest details. Do you record in 4K? Then you need a 4K screen to take full advantage. With a traditional screen, insufficient sharpness will be achieved.
Different types of monitors
There are different types of monitors for surveillance cameras. The professional CCTV monitor provides razor-sharp images, something that is especially important for companies. A TFT monitor is cheaper but has a slightly lower image quality. Still, a TFT monitor is always better than an LCD screen.
Do not only look at the screen quality, but also at the size of the screen. A screen that is too small does not display the images clearly. This may cause you to miss important details. Monitors especially for surveillance cameras are designed to display a still image for a long time. This minimizes the risk of burn-in. Therefore, always choose a special security camera monitor and not a normal (computer) screen.
Monitor with safety glass
Something can always happen within a company or home, especially when there is supervision. A monitor with safety glass is very nice: the screen lasts a very long time. Connect new monitor to the current camera system
It is often not difficult at all to connect a new monitor to the current surveillance system. This is because the modern monitors are equipped with the correct inputs, good specifications and possibly supplied cables. These cables fit the most common surveillance cameras.
Does the monitor have no picture? Check whether the monitor is supplied with mains power (or battery) and whether everything is properly connected. Often it is a small problem that you can solve easily and quickly.
