Built-in security camera

A built-in security camera is a special security camera that can be built into an object or object. Most built-in surveillance cameras have a pinhole lens. This is because a built-in camera often has to be concealed inconspicuously and a pinhole lens is the smallest form of camera lens. There are different models of built-in surveillance cameras for sale, where the biggest difference is often in the resolution used to film and the way in which the images are stored or sent.

When to choose a built-in security camera?

When a security camera should stand out as little as possible, it is often best to opt for a built-in security camera. These cameras can be completely concealed so that nothing is actually visible anymore except a small black dot. In this way you can place the camera exactly as you wish and you are not dependent on a predetermined appearance such as with a hidden camera in an object.

What different types of built-in surveillance cameras are there?

Although the built-in surveillance cameras are very similar in appearance, there are major differences. Below we describe the most common types of built-in security cameras.

Built-in camera with recording on SD card

A built-in camera that records the images on an SD card and has no further connection options is often the most compact in size and quickest to install. This is because there is no Wi-Fi or other setup to be done or a lot of cables to be pulled.

With WiFi connection

You can connect a built-in camera with WiFi connection via a smartphone app to the WiFi network present at the location or use it with a mobile router. After the WiFi camera has connected to the internet, you can access the live and recorded images via the App. There are also many built-in security cameras that also have an SD card slot for recording the images.

With Ethernet connection

The professional built-in cameras work with a recorder (NVR) from which a cable runs to the camera for the transmission of power and image. The images of the built-in security camera are stored on the HDD in the NVR. If you also connect the NVR to the router with an Ethernet cable, remote viewing is also possible.

What are the disadvantages of built-in camera models?

The disadvantage that is often experienced with a security camera that has to be built in is that this requires some skill and time. If one of the two is not present, the use of a built-in camera becomes a lot more difficult.
