A spy camera (hidden camera) protects your or someone else's property. Unobtrusive filming of utensils or the building: make sure the camera is properly concealed. Which spy cameras can you install yourself? A number of models are very easy to use, both in terms of installation and video recording and playback.
Using a spy camera: the rules
A spy camera is intended for unnoticed filming of goods, buildings or people. By filming public places or people you are bound by the privacy law. You must have a valid reason to use a hidden camera (suspicion of fraud or deception). You may not simply share surveillance images with others, unless this serves as evidence. If you comply with the legislation, nothing can go wrong. See below which spy cameras are suitable for self-assembly.
Separate spy cameras
You can place wireless cameras anywhere, without using mains power. Thanks to the internal battery, the camera can film for 1 - 3 hours. In standby, the battery remains active longer. Examples of a spy camera with an internal battery are the smoke detector, Bluetooth speaker or clock camera. The teddy bear spy camera, the bag camera or button camera are also popular hidden cameras.
These models store the images on the internal memory. A number of devices send the images via WiFi. Installation is very simple: place the camera on the wall, on a desk or in a cupboard or tuck it away in a bag or piece of clothing.
Please note: with a camera with internal recording, you will only see the images afterwards. Does the model have IP and WiFi or 4G? Then you can also watch live.
Camera set (wired)
Mounting a wired camera set is a little more difficult. However, it is possible to film inconspicuously and for long periods of time. The wired spy camera consists of glasses, button camera, pinhole hidden camera or mini surveillance camera. Depending on the model, it is also equipped with night vision.
The wired camera set consists of a receiver and camera. You connect this with a cable of 1-10 meters. Of course this is all included. Although installation is slightly less easy, in many cases you do not need any help with this. It's self-explanatory.
3G/4G SIM card cameras
Watch live anywhere in the world: this is possible with a 3G or 4G mobile camera set. You can also choose from different models, including pinhole camera, button camera or blackbox spy camera. This camera set works on (any) SIM card. Thanks to the fast 4G connection, you will experience excellent live images. With some models it is even possible to zoom in. Installation works the same as previous models, except that you also use a smartphone. With the app for iOS and Android you can view not only live images but also previously recorded images. Filming in the dark? Then pay close attention to the presence of night vision: not all of them have this.
