Specifications: Ajax KeyPad White SMART

SKU 7147

The white Ajax KeyPad is a wireless control panel (keypad) that allows you to quickly arm and disarm the Ajax SMART alarm system. This can be done with a single button press or by entering a personal access code. The KeyPad is especially useful at the entrance, allowing family members or employees to operate the alarm system without a smartphone.

Using the Ajax app, you can easily connect the KeyPad to the hub and configure features like entry delays, user codes, and notifications. The panel has a clear status indicator, so you can see at a glance whether the system is armed.

Operate with code and clear status indication

The Ajax KeyPad uses touch buttons and a bright LED indicator. You can arm and disarm the alarm system with a code and (depending on the hub settings) also use partial arming. This is practical if you want to secure a part of the building at night while you're still inside.

After multiple incorrect attempts, the keypad can automatically lock, making misuse more difficult. This keeps operation simple for users, but less appealing to unauthorized access.

Coercion code and silent reporting

The KeyPad supports a duress code. This is a special code that allows you to disarm the system as if it were normal, while sending a silent notification in the background. This notification is sent to configured users and/or to an alarm receiving center if your system is connected to one. This allows you to discreetly call for help in a threatening situation.

Always check whether and how the use of this function fits within your application and the country in which you use the system.

Difference between KeyPad Plus and KeyPad Combi

The Ajax KeyPad is designed for code operation. If you also want to arm and disarm with a card or tag (RFID), a KeyPad Plus is a better fit. If you're looking for a combination of multiple control methods in a single model, a KeyPad Combi is often the logical choice. This prevents you from choosing a keypad that doesn't suit your desired operating method.

Wireless communication and installation

The KeyPad communicates wirelessly with the Ajax Hub via the secure Jeweller protocol. This provides a stable, encrypted connection and continuous status monitoring. It is typically installed near the front door or a central entrance, ensuring proper entry delay functionality and easy operation for users.

Power is provided by AAA batteries. With normal use, they have a long lifespan, and you'll receive a prompt notification when replacements are needed.

FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions about the Ajax KeyPad

Can I use the Ajax KeyPad without a smartphone?

Yes, the KeyPad works independently once paired with the Ajax Hub. You can use the Ajax app to set user codes, permissions, and features like entry delays, but daily operation is still possible via the keypad.

What is a duress code and how does it work?

A duress code is a special code that allows you to disarm the system seemingly normally, while sending a silent notification in the background. This notification is sent to configured users and/or to an alarm receiving center if your system is connected to one.

What is the difference between Ajax KeyPad and KeyPad Plus?

The Ajax KeyPad is designed for code operation. The KeyPad Plus also offers RFID (card or tag) operation. If you primarily need quick operation without a code, the Plus version is usually more convenient.

Where is the best place to place the Ajax KeyPad?

Typically, you'll place the keypad at the main entrance, in a location where you can make good use of the entry delay and where you can comfortably enter a code. Ideally, choose a location that's not directly visible from outside to avoid attracting unnecessary attention.

What happens if there are multiple incorrect codes?

The Ajax KeyPad can be configured to temporarily lock after multiple incorrect attempts. This reduces the risk of misuse and makes it harder to guess codes.
