This Ajax Systems PIR iConnect SMART outdoor alarm is a complete outdoor detector set with an IP66 outdoor motion detector and a wireless base station (hub) that connects to the internet via an Ethernet cable or SIM card. As soon as the outdoor alarm detects motion, you'll receive a push notification on your smartphone. This makes the system ideal as a driveway alarm, perimeter security, or early intrusion detection system for your home or business.
How does the Ajax outdoor alarm iConnect SMART work?
The Ajax Hub serves as the base station for this outdoor alarm. Connect the Hub to your router with the included Ethernet cable, or insert a SIM card to work via mobile internet. Then install the Ajax app on your smartphone. In the app, you add the outdoor detector, set the sensitivity, and choose how and when you want to receive notifications.
The outdoor detector is battery-powered and communicates wirelessly with the Hub. You place the PIR motion detector outdoors in the area you want to protect, such as a driveway, garden path, gate, walkway, or back door. When motion is detected, the sensor immediately sends a signal to the Hub, which in turn sends a notification to your smartphone. If you also want an audible signal inside your home, the system can be expanded with an indoor siren with a chime function.
No monthly fees
Unlike many other alarm systems, Ajax systems don't have mandatory monthly subscription fees. The Ajax app is free to use, and firmware updates are included in the purchase price. Any costs for your own internet connection, SIM card, or an optional external monitoring station are your own responsibility, but for regular use of this outdoor alarm system, there's no fixed monthly fee.
Pet-friendly outdoor detector
The outdoor motion detector is designed to be pet-friendly. Thanks to smart algorithms and optical filtering, the detector typically ignores animals up to approximately 25 kg and a height of approximately 80 cm. This significantly reduces the number of false alarms from animals like cats or smaller dogs. Moving branches and slight changes in shade are also filtered out as much as possible.

Up to approximately 100 detectors can be connected to the Ajax Hub, such as additional indoor motion detectors, magnetic contacts on windows and doors, smoke detectors, sirens, and panic buttons. In addition, up to approximately 10 surveillance cameras can be connected for video footage. This allows you to gradually expand from a simple outdoor detector to a complete indoor and outdoor alarm system.
Wireless but secure
While some wireless systems risk disrupting (jamming) the radio signal, the Ajax system features extensive sabotage protection. Communication between the Hub and detectors is two-way and continuously monitored. Every 12 to 300 seconds (adjustable), the Hub checks whether all detectors are still reachable. In the event of malfunctions or jamming attempts, you'll receive an immediate notification in the app.
