How does the Ajax Hub 1 relay set work?

The Ajax Hub 1 is the central brain of the system. You plug the Hub into the power outlet and connect it to your router via a network cable. Optionally, you can insert a SIM card so the system can automatically switch to mobile data if the internet goes down.

The Ajax Relay communicates wirelessly with the Hub via the secure Jeweller protocol. You can use the free Ajax app to switch connected devices manually or via automated scenarios.

App control and automation via scenarios

With the free Ajax app for Android and iOS, you can remotely switch devices on or off. You can also set up scenarios, such as automatically switching on outdoor lights when an alarm is triggered, opening a gate when the alarm system is disarmed, or turning off heating when the alarm is activated.

All automations run locally via the Hub and are completely free to use, without a subscription.

SIM card option for use without internet

The Ajax Hub 1 supports both Ethernet and a SIM card connection (GSM). This allows the system to continue functioning during internet outages or in locations without a fixed connection. Notifications and scenarios are then sent via mobile data.

This way you can continue to control devices and receive notifications via the app, even in remote locations such as a warehouse, garage, construction site or storage unit without Wi-Fi.

No subscription and easy to use

There are no monthly subscription fees for using the Ajax app, notifications, and automations. Firmware updates are included with the purchase of the hardware. You only pay for your own internet or SIM card costs.

The app is clearly and intuitively designed, allowing even users without a technical background to easily set up circuits and scenarios.

How does the Ajax Relay connection work?

The Ajax Relay operates on 7–24 V DC and is powered by an external adapter, for example, 12 V DC. The relay features a floating (dry) changeover contact that can be used to switch 230 V devices or low-voltage circuits, among other things.

You place the relay between the power supply and the device you want to switch. Using the Ajax app, you can determine whether the relay switches manually or automatically via a scenario.

Expandable with detectors, sirens and additional relays

The Ajax Hub 1 supports up to approximately 100 wireless devices. You can easily expand the set with motion detectors, magnetic contacts, keypads, indoor and outdoor sirens, or additional relay modules for individual switching.

This allows you to build a complete, customized security and automation system step by step.

Applications of the Ajax Relay set

This set is used for remote switching of access gates, roller doors, lighting, pumps, ventilation systems, electric locks and other electrical installations.
