People increasingly opt for wireless surveillance cameras. This is mainly due to the ease with which you can install this type of surveillance camera. Getting rid of and connecting a wired system sometimes takes a lot of time and it is difficult to neatly conceal cables.
Wireless surveillance cameras
Wireless surveillance cameras work with a receiver on a certain frequency. Both the receiver and the camera are connected to the mains. If you want to record images, it is possible to do this through a dedicated recording system, in principle this works in the same way as with a wired system. Are you using an analogue wireless system? Then the maximum distance to the receiver is approximately 10 meters. Of course that depends on the way a building is constructed. Sometimes this range is slightly larger and sometimes this range is slightly smaller. There are also wireless systems that are digital. The technology of these cameras is slightly different, the range of these cameras is often a lot bigger. There are also fewer problems when there are walls, for example.
Prevent interference from wireless surveillance cameras
It remains difficult to prevent interference with wireless surveillance cameras. Especially when other activities take place on the same frequency and when a home or business premises have thick walls. Yet wireless surveillance systems are more popular than ever! This has to do with the ease with which the systems can be installed and the attractive price at which you can purchase and install a wireless system. If you want to minimize the chance of a failure, it is important to place the receiver close to your cameras. In addition, it is wise to have a maximum of four cameras in your security system. The more surveillance cameras you connect to your system, the greater the chance that interference will occur.
Switch to wired system
Do you want to improve the image quality of your surveillance images or do you want to hang more than four cameras? Then it is advisable to switch to a wired system. This way you reduce the chance of malfunctions and you can capture sharp images. In addition, the quality will be a lot better. Do you want to opt for an intermediate variant? You can also opt for a combination set (wireless + wired). This set consists of two wireless and two wired surveillance cameras. The chance of malfunctions is thus much smaller. The wired surveillance cameras are best used for remote, the wireless surveillance cameras for close. This means you only have to install two wired systems, saving you a lot of time.
