HD-SDI stands for high definition serial digital interface and is now also available for security camera systems. Although in the field of IP camera systems it was already possible to film in full HD for some time, this was not yet possible for CCTV systems. With the arrival of HD-SDI cameras, however, many people will opt for a CCTV system again, because the same high HD quality can now be achieved with the reliability of a wired camera system.

Quality HD-SDI security cameras:
Higher quality analogue surveillance cameras have a maximum number of horizontal image lines of 700, with HD-SDI cameras this is already 1100 TVL and can be filmed in 1080P full HD. In practice, this means that the recorded videos from a security camera can be just as good as it was made with a professional camcorder.
1100 TV lines HD SDI camera:
Where conventional CCTV surveillance cameras could have a maximum number of TV lines of 650/700, with the HD-SDI camera this is a greatly improved 1100 TV lines. This is made possible by a Sony 2.43 Megapixel lens with a resolution of 2000 x 1241 pixels.
ICR Varifocal lens:
In addition to the high number of pixels and TV lines of the ICR Sony lens, it also has the option of manually zooming from 2.8 to 10 mm. In practice, this means that the full HD SDI camera can be set up in such a way that it gives a more general view of a certain room or is more focused on a certain place to give a clearer image there. The advantage of a varifocal lens compared to a fixed lens is that you can adjust the lens to the situation and do not have to choose a certain number of mm lens when purchasing.
How to install an HD-SDI camera system:
The basis of an HD-SDI camera system consists of an HD digital video recorder with a hard disk where the images from the HD-SDI cameras are recorded. These recorders, also known as DVR, are available in 4.8.16 or 32 channels and have an HDMI output (for monitor) and LAN output (for router). The HD-SDI security cameras are connected to the HD DVR via a Coax cable with a BNC connector. Both the image and the current are transmitted via the coaxial cable, which has the advantage that there is no need for a current point at the location of the HD-SDI security camera. The coax cable must be of high quality with a minimum of 75 ohms. This is to ensure that there is no loss of quality from the HD-SDI camera to the HD DVR. In this way the image can be transmitted in 1080p and recorded at 30 frames per second. This is a significant improvement in comparison to older CCTV camera systems and makes face recognition and license plate registration possible.
HD-SDI versus HD IP cameras:
Although some IP cameras have already been able to use full HD for a longer time, the arrival of the HD-SDI cameras has made it the same again. So how there is no difference in quality between these systems does both have advantages and disadvantages. Because of this, most people opt for an HD IP camera when they only want to purchase 1 camera and matters such as controlling the camera remotely are important. For HD-SDI cameras, the choice is made again if a complete camera system must be installed and reliability and storage are important.
High quality from Korea:
Our HD-SDI cameras are designed and made in Korea with a Sony lens and have an exceptional high quality in both image and design / housing. In contrast to HD-SDI surveillance cameras from China, the finishing has been taken care of to perfection and the stability of the system is many times higher than cheaper HD-SDI solutions from China.
