Axis cameras have been on sale for years and are generally known as high quality ip (surveillance) cameras. When a camera brand is chosen in buildings or institutions where larger budgets are available for camera surveillance, (IP) security cameras from the Axis brand are often chosen.
Axis IP cameras:
Most Axis security cameras are IP cameras. This means that the cameras use the internet protocol and are therefore connected to the network via a network cable or via the WIFI connection. The advantage of IP cameras over analog security cameras is that with IP cameras there are more options for recording software. For example, the Axis camera station is the software where the images from the Axis cameras are recorded. In this software program, for example, it is possible to count the people who enter or leave a door and it is possible to automatically take a picture of car license plates. The storage of the Axis IP cameras is usually done on a specially equipped server that only serves for recording and management of the Axis cameras.
Quality Axis cameras:
The Axis IP cameras are currently all megapixel cameras which means that the lens of the axis camera is at least 1.3 MP. In this way very clear images are transmitted and the quality of the recording with an Axis (IP) camera is of high quality.
Alternatives for Axis cameras:
Although Axis is the most famous brand when it comes to (ip) network camera, there are already many other brands on the market that are equal in quality, but are a lot cheaper than Axis cameras. Cheap Axis cameras cannot be purchased online, but cheap IP cameras can already be purchased online from other brands such as Airlive.

Furthermore, the images from the HD security cameras can be viewed live via any mobile phone or smartphone such as an iPhone or iPad without the need for a special App.
