The Camouflage Wi-Fi Security Camera PLUS is a compact, IP54 waterproof black box camera in a camouflaged housing. This standalone camera can operate on either the included adapter or the internal rechargeable battery, and records to a microSD card. Uniquely, the special lens can film through the glass of the camouflage box, even in the dark, without annoying reflections or glaring infrared light. This allows you to observe outdoors discreetly, while the camera remains safely and discreetly inside its housing.

The camera has a microSD card slot for cards up to 256 GB (not included) and can record both continuously and when motion is detected. The built-in Wi-Fi/IP module allows you to connect directly to the camera on-site and view footage remotely via the cloud.

The product consists of an IP54 waterproof camouflage housing containing a Blackbox Wi-Fi camera PLUS. The housing is designed to be as unobtrusive as possible in outdoor settings, such as gardens, yards, wooded areas, construction sites, or storage areas. Thanks to its IP54 rating, the housing is splash-proof and dust-resistant, allowing the camera to be installed under a canopy, on a fence, or in a sheltered outdoor area.

A mounting bracket is not included as standard, but the camouflage box can easily be attached with tie-wraps, magnets or screws, depending on the surface and situation.

Thanks to the rainproof IP54 camouflage housing, the camera can also be discreetly placed in a tree, bush, hedge, or against a pole. This allows you to conceal the camera among greenery, making it virtually unnoticeable to passersby. This allows you to record theft, vandalism, or unwanted movement around a property without revealing the camera's location. Combined with Wi-Fi and cloud access, you can also remotely view live footage, while the camera remains safely and discreetly concealed in its camouflage box.

Works on 2.4 GHz WiFi – the standard in almost every router

The camouflage Wi-Fi camera uses 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. This is the standard frequency supported by almost all routers. So you don't need a special router and generally don't have to adjust any complicated network settings. In practice, entering your Wi-Fi password in the app is enough to connect the camera to your existing network.

How does the camouflage box camera work in practice?

The manual indicates which free app you can download for iOS or Android. When you turn on the blackbox camera, it first creates its own Wi-Fi network. You connect your phone to it, open the app, and connect directly to the camera. From the app, you can easily:

– Adjust recording settings (continuous or motion)
– Connect the camera to the existing 2.4 GHz WiFi network
– Configure the date and time settings
– Set video quality and notifications

Once the camera is successfully connected to your local Wi-Fi network, you can watch live footage from a remote location via the internet, receive notifications, and download recorded footage. Footage is always stored locally on the microSD card, so you can preserve your evidence even in the event of a temporary network outage.

Filming through the camouflage glass, even in the dark

The special lens construction allows you to film through the glass of the camouflage box without any reflection issues. No visible infrared illumination is used, so there's no noticeable red glow or flash. Combined with the light-sensitive sensor material, you can capture usable images even in the evening and night, even under ambient light conditions such as streetlights or yard lights.

The internal Li-ion battery allows for up to 8 hours of continuous filming. For long-term surveillance, you can leave the camera connected to the included adapter, ensuring continuous monitoring. This is ideal if you want to use the camera semi-permanently in a fixed location with a power supply.

Up to approximately 30 days standby with PIR motion detection

When you set the camera to record on motion, the PIR sensor is used to detect activity. In this mode, the standby time can be up to approximately 30 days on a full battery, depending on the amount of movement. As soon as the PIR sensor detects a temperature difference—for example, a person or animal—the camera turns on and starts recording.

The camera can also send a push notification to your smartphone when motion is detected. Tap this notification and the corresponding video will immediately play in the app.

Use as a stand-alone recorder with SD card

The IP blackbox camera supports microSD cards up to 256 GB. Depending on the selected resolution, you can store at least approximately 60 hours of video. When the card is full, you can set the camera to automatically overwrite the oldest clips. This way, the camera continues recording without you having to manually delete files.
