With a security camera you never let your children play without supervision. Quite reassurance for many parents. Nowadays there are many different surveillance cameras available, from simple models to equipment that you control via your smartphone.
Wireless security camera: in and around the home
Many security cameras need the electricity network to take pictures. This is not a problem if you want to supervise in the bedroom, playroom or elsewhere in your home. You will find a power outlet almost everywhere in your home. However, your children also play outside, for example in the back garden or in the yard. Also in these cases you want to supervise your children! With a wireless camera system you are not bound to cabling and you only have to plug your cameras into the socket.
An HD coax camera set including recorder makes Full HD recording possible and is equipped with motion detection. You have an image as soon as someone walks in front of the camera, in other cases the camera switches off. You can even access the cameras from an Android smartphone or iPhone. This way you also supervise remotely.
Of course there are also other camera sets available, think of separate cameras and even sets with sixteen cameras and one umbrella recorder.
Supervision in the baby or children's room
It is nice to know that your little one is sleeping comfortably, but is everything going well with him or her? Many parents are inclined to look several times. This disrupts the child's sleep. A security camera takes many worries away from you.
You use a single camera, especially with a monitor, for the baby's or children's room. The camera focuses on the crib or cot, so that you can always watch when your child is awake.
Do you use a camera that is connected to the internet? Then be aware of hackers, in the worst case they can watch in your child's bedroom. Of course you want to be protected for this.
Turn off cameras connected to the internet when you are not using them and, if necessary, create a separate secure network. You do this by setting up a new WiFi network or so-called guest network, you protect this network with a password.

Filming your own child
Filming in your own home is not covered by the privacy law. You can therefore supervise your own children through surveillance cameras. Pay attention to the babysitter: this must be aware of the presence of surveillance cameras and you may not just share recordings of the babysitter with someone else, you ask permission in advance.
The slightly older child will sometimes have to get used to the presence of a security camera. Don't be surprised if it distracts your child. After a few days, the novelty will be complete and your child will play carefree again with his or her toys.
